Organization and Strategy
CiTin is organized in three major departments: the Advanced Manufacturing Systems Department, centered on the design and development of new manufacturing systems by taking advantage of innovative technologies (cobots, additive manufacturing, etc.) and innovative processes (flexible manufacturing, etc.) to improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector; the Cyber-Physical Systems Department is focused on the development of intelligent systems, that include digitization, communication networks and physical processes control, using distributed computational resources, not only enhancing the potential of the factory floor but also the overall business value chain; and the Mobility and Environment Department, which is dedicated to the production of automotive components and to the new materials’ development, with the goal of promoting eco-innovation mechanisms and thus foster circular economy. CiTin creates value, improves quality, has production flexibility and market responsiveness.
HOW IT DOES STRATEGICALLY?
CiTin supports companies in solving the problems that hinder their growth and in the continuous improvement of their processes. It acts as an innovation driver by fostering the development of their competencies towards the Industry 5.0 paradigm, where humans and machines harmoniously cooperate to build the factory of the future. Since the beggining, Citin has been fostering the economic potential of the region by attracting investment, establishing partnerships among organizations, development of technology transfer activities, conducting scientific and technological dissemination and creating technological, sustainable and disruptive initiatives promoted in partnership between companies, academia and public utility entities.
